1M1B Changemakers World Cup

Effective Date: 1 March 2025

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the 1M1B Changemakers World Cup (CWC) and use of the associated website (www.changemakersworldcup.com). By accessing the website or participating in any part of the CWC initiative, you (the “User” or “Participant”) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not participate or use the website.

1. Organizers and Ownership

The Changemakers World Cup is an initiative of 1M1B (One Million for One Billion) and Flaunch Innovation Private Limited. All references to “we,” “our,” or “us” refer to these organizations and their authorized partners.

2. Eligibility

  • Participation is open to students/ individuals aged 13 and above at the time of application.
  • Participants under the age of 18 must have explicit consent (consent forms shared with participants via email) from a parent or legal guardian to participate and, if selected, to travel internationally.
  • The Organizers reserve the right to verify age, identity, and eligibility at any stage of the Competition.
  • Schools, teachers, and parents may nominate or facilitate participation, but each student must complete an individual registration.

3. Registration and Account Responsibility

  • All participants must register via the official website: www.changemakersworldcup.com.
  • You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
  • You are solely responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities under your account.
  • Providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification.

4. Competition Format

  • The CWC follows a gamified model, where participants complete “missions” aligned with changemaking themes to earn points.
  • Leaderboards will rank participants based on accumulated points as per the submissions for the missions based on organiser reviews.
  • Participation does not guarantee selection; only top-ranking and vetted entries will proceed to the final stages.
  • The top 500 changemakers will receive national recognition, and the top 50 will be invited to attend the 1M1B Summit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

5. Themes of Participation

Participants may apply under one of the following tracks:

  • Act for Change
  • Speak for Change
  • Art for Change

The Organizers reserve the right to reclassify an entry if better suited to a different theme.

6. Content Ownership and Rights

  • All submissions (including text, audio, video, images, presentations, and code) must be the original work of the participant.
  • By submitting any content, you:
    • Warrant that you have full rights to the material.
    • Grant the Organizers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, publish, reproduce, and share the content across media platforms for promotional, educational, or evaluation purposes.
    • Retain ownership of your intellectual property; this license does not transfer ownership.

Participants are responsible for ensuring no copyright, trademark, or third-party rights are infringed in their submissions.

7. Code of Conduct

All participants, mentors, and associated parties must:

  • Uphold respect, dignity, and integrity in all communications and submissions.
  • Refrain from harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, or defamation.
  • Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws.
  • Act in good faith and in the spirit of collaboration and learning.

Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in immediate disqualification and banning from future initiatives.

8. Selection and Awards

  • Selection to the top 50 is based on a multi-stage evaluation that includes quantitative scoring, mentor evaluations, and jury reviews.
  • Selection is at the sole discretion of the Organizers and is final and binding. No appeals will be entertained.
  • Selection for the UN Summit is contingent on:
    • Valid passport availability.
    • Visa issuance by the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
    • Adherence to deadlines and protocols set by the Organizers.
    • Compliance with all international travel regulations.

Organizers will provide letters of invitation but do not guarantee visa issuance or travel authorization.

9. Travel, Expenses, and Liability

  • If selected for the Summit, participants (and guardians, where applicable) are responsible for securing:
    • Valid travel documents (passport, visa, etc.).
    • Parental consent and school leave.
    • All expenses towards travel and accommodation as part of the visit to the UN headquarters in New York to attend the Summit.
  • Organizers may sponsor travel or provide partial support at their discretion, which will be communicated explicitly.
  • Organizers are not liable for:
    • Missed flights or appointments
    • Visa rejections or delays.
    • Health-related travel restrictions or emergencies.
  • Participants must abide by travel guidelines, health protocols, and behavioural standards during international travel.

10. Disqualification

The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant at any stage for:

  • Misrepresentation or plagiarism
  • Violation of laws or these Terms.
  • Misconduct or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Non-compliance with instructions, including failure to submit required materials on time.

Disqualified individuals forfeit all awards and recognitions.

11. Website Use and Data Collection

  • By using the website, users consent to the collection and processing of personal data in accordance with the 1M1B Privacy Policy (linked separately).
  • The platform may use cookies and analytics to enhance user experience.
  • No user may attempt to disrupt, hack, or misuse the website in any form.

12. Indemnification

You (and if under 18, your parent or legal guardian) agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 1M1B, Flaunch, their directors, officers, employees, affiliates, and partners from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your participation in the CWC;
  • Any breach of these Terms or applicable laws by you;
  • Content submitted by you, including any claim of infringement, defamation, or violation of privacy;
  • Any personal injury, property damage, or other loss during travel or event participation (including the 1M1B Summit at the United Nations in New York), whether or not directly organized by 1M1B or Flaunch;
  • Any misrepresentation, misconduct, or negligence on your part.

This indemnity survives termination of your participation in the program.

13. Limitation of Liability

  • The CWC platform is provided "as is." We do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
  • The Organizers are not liable for technical issues, data loss, system failures, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Participation is voluntary and at the user’s own risk.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

  • The Website may contain links to external platforms. These are provided for convenience and are not under the control of the Organizers.
  • We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content of third-party websites.

15. Changes to Terms

  • These Terms may be updated at any time without prior notice.
  • Revised Terms will be posted on the website with a new effective date.
  • Continued participation or website use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
  • Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bangalore.
